St. John Neumann Men’s Club

A Parish Ministry of St. John Neumann Catholic Church

President's Message

July 26, 2020

My hope and prayer are that you are all safe and healthy. Please pray that this isolation will be over soon. It is unfortunate that we could not meet face to face and enjoy an evening together.

Thanks to all of you who voted for our new slate of officers.

There was a late addition for the position of Sergeant-at-Arms.  Guido (Guy) Alvarez has volunteered to assume this position.

Our new officers were sworn into office on July 6, 2020 at 7:30 pm at a Zoom meeting.  Just to repeat the new officer slate, I am providing the following list:

President – Thomas Visney

Vice President – Luis Acevedo

Treasurer – John Hanek

Secretary – Tim O’Connor

Sergeant-at-Arms – Guido Alvarez

Past President – Paul Banaszak

These are the names and Director positions:

Membership – Richard Glass

Operations – Dennis Stommes,

Events – Mike Mesa

Ministries – Keith Simmons

Marketing/ Media – Dan Lamey, and

Food Services – Jim Iovino.

Also, I want to remind you that dues for the new club year are now due.  Dues are still only $20.  Your dues not only go for club expenses but also are a part of the donations and support we provide to other ministries in the parish and in the community.

Please go online at our website to pay your dues or send your check to the parish office Attention: Thomas Visney, Men’s Club President.

Don’t forget to visit our website for additional information, pictures and upcoming event information.

Due to the Covid-19 virus, I was afflicted in early July. I am proud to say that your prayers and well wishes helped me to get through the infection.  Fortunately, my infection was mild.  Please pray for others who have the virus, including Deacon Ralph who is fighting the illness at Baptist Hospital.

Because of the shutdown orders and to be safe, we have cancelled the August and September general meetings.  It is unfortunate that we have missed the Chili Cookoff twice in the last 3 years.  Once from Hurricane Mitch and this year due to the Covid virus.

Please stay safe and don’t forget to pay your dues.

Thanks, please pray for our priests, they’re praying for you.

Tom Visney

SJN Men’s Club President

Our Most Recent Dinner Meeting on March 2nd

At our John Sullivan St Patrick’s Day Men’s Club Dinner Meeting tonight, our Archbishop Thomas Wenski brought a prayer of blessing and a timely message on the importance and challenges of passing on the Faith to those we love and those we meet around us. The membership enjoyed an evening of sharing fellowship with the Archbishop and each other, and even a fine cigar.
