St. John Neumann Men’s Club
A Parish Ministry of St. John Neumann Catholic Church
Greetings my brothers in Christ:
First, I want to say thank you for your trust and confidence in me for the opportunity to serve one more year as your President of the St John Neumann Catholic Church Men's Club. I will give 110% and am humbled and excited at the same time what the 2021-2022 year will bring. As this past year was incredibly challenging, but at the same time so many of you stepped up to serve the Club and Parish. I am truly blessed to be surrounded by so many individuals who often give up their time, talent, and treasure for the betterment of the organization and parish.
May is always the busiest month for the Club. The volunteers never stopped showing up when the call or email was sent for the need to serve. When laborers and pickup trucks were requested to move the Parish Priests belongings during the transition to a new Pastor, a convoy of vehicles were there. Thank you as well to Grand Knight Bernie Torra and his soldiers from the Knights of Columbus Council at St. John Neumann for their generosity and support in this mission. It goes to show you that ministries work hand-in-hand with one another for the same task. We will miss Monsignor Pablo Navarro and wish him well in his new assignment as the President/Rector of the St John Vianney College Seminary located next to Columbus and St. Brendan’s High Schools in Westchester. Those young seminarians may not know their good fortune and what they are in for, but surely will soon.
At the same time, we warmly welcome our new Pastor of St John Neumann Catholic Church, former Parochial Vicar at St John Neumann, Father Jose Alfaro. We look forward to Father Alfaro addressing our membership at a future Men's Club General Meeting.
Our next Dinner Meeting will be on Monday, July 12, the second Monday of the month. We will not meet on Monday of the July 4 weekend. The June 7 General Meeting had ten former Men's Club Presidents in attendance. The steak served by our fabulous chef Jimmy Iovino and his crew was scrumptious. Our Speaker was Deacon Jose (Joe) Naranjo, our new parish Deacon was the highlight of the evening. Join me in wishing past President Dan Stanley and his wife Leanor all the best as they relocate to Venice, Florida.
The Men's Club Board meets on the third Monday of each month in Room "E" (June 21) at 7:00 pm. Members are encouraged and welcome to attend. Food and refreshments are served. Just shoot me an email or text me so we have enough food. My contact email is: or cell: 305-898-2235. We like fresh ideas and suggestions on how to improve this club such as ideas for speakers, who could address the members at a General Meeting.
Stay safe and I wish you many blessings and good health to you and your family.

Faith ● Fellowship ● Service
Founded in 1981, the St. John Neumann Men’s Club is a Catholic men's group dedicated to promoting faith development, camaraderie, forming enduring friendships, and service to build a better Parish community at St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Miami, FL. Our monthly dinner meetings provide an opportunity for men of our Parish to enrich our faith, build friendships, hear informative and uplifting speaker presentations, and take action through service to support the work of the Parish, its ministries, and the wider community-at-large.
Thanks to our annual Golf Tournament and the work of our members, we are able to raise funds in support of our charitable projects and to assist over 20 spiritual and community outreach ministries of the Parish, such as Family Matters, Men’s Emmaus, Our Lady of Florida Spiritual Retreats, Homeless Ministry, Youth Ministry, Marriage Covenant Ministry, Habitat for Humanity, and St. John Neumann Catholic School. Since 1996, our Christmas Teddy Bear Project has visited and delivered Christmas Teddy Bears to over 11,000 children hospitalized during the Christmas holidays at area hospitals, including Baptist, Miami Children’s, and Jackson. The Club distributes over 1500 orchids every Mother's Day to the mothers, grandmothers, and great-grandmothers of the Parish.
