St. John Neumann Men’s Club
A Parish Ministry of St. John Neumann Catholic Church
On behalf of the Saint John Neumann’s Men’s Club Board of Directors, I want to wish each of you and your families Happy Easter. Jesus Christ is Risen. It is unfortunate that we could not share and enjoy the Easter message at Holy Mass, but I pray that you all had an opportunity to
time. Please be safe. If you or someone you know is having a hard time, please let one of us know. We may be able to help with your needs, whatever they may be.
We have a number of activities coming up in the next few weeks that need everyone’s support.
In May we are soliciting nominations for positions on our board of directors. Considering the sheltering and isolation directives, we will probably be soliciting your vote in June via email.
The following positions are available, and our club needs your involvement to continue as one of the largest Men’s Clubs in the Southeast US.
President (must have participated on the board in the last 5 years and be a member in good standing. There is a term limit that we voted on back in February and past presidents who have only served for 1 year can run again).
Vice President (Can be any member in good standing)
Special Services Director (member in good standing, required since there is not a past past president)
Sargent at Arms (any member in good standing, oversees the front sign in table and assists in maintaining order at meetings
Director of Membership (maintains the roster of members and updates for active members)
Director of Events (enlists members to help coordinate themed meetings and events)
Treasurer (handles the financial activities for the club) John Hanek has volunteered to perform this position
Secretary (takes minutes at board meetings and regular meetings and documents item voted on. Keith Simmons has agreed to fill this position in Tim O’Connor’s absence.
Director of Operations (responsible for setting up decorations, banners and other visual aids at meetings and other events.
This is your club and it needs your support. Please volunteer for one of these positions. We all need to be involved and engaged to make the club a continued success.
Our golf tournament which is our major fund-raising event is cancelled for this year. As a result our disbursement of funds this next year will be challenging.
On a lighter note with respect to our scholarship program, we received 6 high school applicants and 3 eighth grade applicants. Announcement of winners and awards will be made by email and on our website.
Please consider volunteering for one of our board of director positions.
Thank you and God Bless you and your families in this period of social isolation.

Our Most Recent Dinner Meeting on March 2nd
At our John Sullivan St Patrick’s Day Men’s Club Dinner Meeting tonight, our Archbishop Thomas Wenski brought a prayer of blessing and a timely message on the importance and challenges of passing on the Faith to those we love and those we meet around us. The membership enjoyed an evening of sharing fellowship with the Archbishop and each other, and even a fine cigar.
